The Czech Republic’s apple industry has evolved into a modern, quality-focused sector built around commercial orchards, advanced storage technology and long-term supermarket supply. Although the country produces significantly fewer apples than neighbouring Poland, Czech growers have remained competitive by investing in controlled-atmosphere storage, automated grading systems and integrated packing operations. Much of the commercial production is concentrated in Central and Eastern Bohemia, where producer cooperatives and specialist orchard businesses work closely with retailers, wholesalers and export partners. The companies featured in this report represent the core of the Czech Republic’s commercial apple produce industry, supporting domestic supermarket programmes while supplying selected international markets with premium fresh fruit.
