Graphic Packaging Partners with Arbor Day Foundation to Restore Forests

Graphic Packaging Arbor Day Foundation

Graphic Packaging International has initiated a new five-year partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to support the restoration of forests and the planting of additional trees worldwide.

The company will give $500,000 over five years to support tree planting in areas that need it most. This includes forest restoration projects and the addition of green spaces in towns and cities where Graphic Packaging operates.

This partnership is part of the company’s new social impact program called RENEW. It aligns with the goals outlined in Graphic Packaging’s Vision 2030 plan, which focuses on supporting communities and preserving the planet.

Through RENEW, employees worldwide will participate in tree-planting events, assist with distributing seedlings, and join local conservation activities. The company states that its goal is to make a genuine difference in the communities where its employees live and work.

Why It Matters

Graphic Packaging is one of the largest global suppliers of paperboard and carton packaging for the food, beverage, and consumer goods industries. Many supermarket and FMCG brands depend on its packaging solutions.
By partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation, the company demonstrates how the packaging industry can play a more significant role in environmental action.

Forests play a key role in clean air, clean water, and cooler city climates. Reforestation projects supported by this partnership will be selected using the Forest Priority Index and Nature Priority Index, which identify areas where trees can have the most significant impact for both people and nature.

The RENEW program also includes work to improve food access and support youth education across more than 100 company sites in 25 countries.
