Performance Overview
The decline in sales was mainly due to weak summer demand and lower sales in the UK. However, the company said demand improved by the end of the quarter and sell-through growth in UK retail is now stabilizing.
Organic revenue fell 1.6%, reflecting a small volume decline of 0.5% and a 1.1% drop in price mix. Adjusted gross profit was €212 million, down 15% year-on-year.
CEO Stéfan Descheemaeker said the business faced “weather-related category pressure” in July but noted that its growth platforms performed well. He added that new price increases for 2026 have already been communicated to retailers and that efficiency plans remain on track.
The company also said it continues to invest in innovation and renovation projects, which are expected to support growth in 2026.
Nine-Month View
For the first nine months of 2025, Nomad Foods reported total revenue of €2.26 billion, down 2% from last year. Organic sales were 2.1% lower, with volumes down 1.6%.
Adjusted EBITDA for the nine-month period was €392 million, down 8.4%. Adjusted profit was €186 million, compared with €221 million a year ago.
The company said supply chain inflation continued to weigh on profit margins, but overhead cost savings and improved efficiency helped offset part of the pressure.
Outlook For 2025
Nomad Foods expects full-year results near the low end of its guidance:
Organic revenue: flat to -2%
Adjusted EBITDA: down 3–7% year-on-year
Adjusted EPS: between €1.64 and €1.76 (around $1.89–$2.02)
Free cash flow conversion: 90% or higher
The company said these results reflect a challenging year but reaffirmed its confidence in its brands and strategy.
Preparing For 2026
Nomad Foods will welcome Dominic Brisby as its new CEO in 2026.
Co-Chairman and Founder Noam Gottesman said Brisby has the “resources and skillset to revitalize growth and unlock value” as the business enters its next phase.
The company’s focus areas for 2026 include:
Strengthening brand marketing and advertising
Launching new frozen meal formats under Birds Eye and Findus
Expanding its efficiency and cost reduction program
Improving profitability across its supply chain
Nomad Foods described the frozen food category as “resilient” and said it remains confident that consumer demand will stay steady even in a slower economic environment.
Why It Matters
The Nomad Foods Q3 2025 results highlight how supermarket suppliers are still managing cost inflation and shifting consumer habits.
Frozen food remains a key growth area for European retailers because of its affordability, long shelf life, and reduced waste.
Nomad Foods’ stability is significant for supermarkets, wholesalers, and private-label partners across Europe. Its portfolio includes leading frozen vegetables, fish, and ready meals — staples in major retail chains like Tesco, Carrefour, and Ahold Delhaize.
Although profits have slipped, Nomad Foods’ progress in innovation, supply chain efficiency, and sustainability could strengthen its long-term role as a top supplier in Europe’s grocery sector.
The results also show how category leaders are managing to protect value and volume despite weather and cost pressures — trends that will shape retailer-supplier negotiations heading into 2026.
