Carrefour Belgium has begun its Black Friday campaign with large discounts on non-food products, aiming to give shoppers a clear boost during a period when household budgets remain tight.
The retailer confirmed that its promotions are already live across stores and online. The offers focus on big-ticket categories where families look for savings before Christmas. Carrefour said the goal this year is to help Belgian shoppers manage seasonal spending more easily.
The supermarket is promoting reductions across several popular areas. Shoppers can find cuts of up to €200 on selected household appliances, including robot vacuum cleaners. Entertainment and gaming items are part of the offer, with consoles and video games included in the event. Kitchen appliances from well-known brands are also discounted.
Carrefour is adding an extra incentive for customers who plan to make larger purchases. For every €100 spent on eligible Black Friday items, shoppers will receive a €20 coupon. This applies to categories such as small and large household appliances, TVs, audio, photography, computers, gaming, consoles and telephony. iPhones and Apple Watch devices are excluded.
Black Friday has become a key retail period in Belgium. Research from Testaankoop shows that 63% of Belgian consumers plan to shop during this period, with an average budget of €329. Many use the event to prepare for Christmas while keeping overall costs lower.
Carrefour Belgium says its broad non-food offer allows it to play a central role during this peak shopping moment, especially for families looking to stretch their budgets. By combining direct discounts with the additional voucher, the retailer aims to stay competitive during one of the busiest trading weeks of the year.
The promotions run as part of the 2025 Black Friday period across Belgium.
Why This Matters
Carrefour’s Black Friday push shows how major European retailers are using non-food promotions to support household budgets during the festive season. The extra €20 voucher per €100 spent strengthens its position against rivals at a time when shoppers are highly price-sensitive. It also highlights how supermarkets are competing more directly with electronics and general-merchandise retailers during peak trading weeks.
