ALDI SÜD (Germany) Confirms 2025 Christmas and New Year Opening Times

ALDI SÜD Germany Confirms 2025 Holiday Trading Hours

Germany, 1 December 2025 – ALDI SÜD has confirmed its national store hours for Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2025, outlining regional trading adjustments across its German network.

The announcement supports end-of-year operational planning across the grocery sector, as footfall and demand peak in the final shopping week of the year.

Christmas Eve – Shortened Hours

All stores will operate as usual in the lead-up to Christmas.
On 24 December, store closures will follow state-level variations:

  • 1:30 PM close in Baden-Württemberg and Hesse

  • 2:00 PM close in all other federal states

This schedule aligns with local trading rules while preserving final-hour shopper access.

New Year’s Eve and Fireworks Sales

Fireworks will be on sale from 29 December, following national regulations.

On 31 December, stores will close early:

  • 4:00 PM in most regions

  • 2:00 PM in Hesse and Saarland

Shopping centre locations and Dutch-border stores may differ, depending on local agreements.

Operational Context

ALDI SÜD operates over 2,000 stores across western and southern Germany. As one of the country’s leading discounters, its holiday trading model often sets the tone for peer banners and supply chain cut-offs.

The early publication of holiday hours allows partners — from suppliers to logistics providers — to align stock movements, promotional cycles, and final-mile delivery windows.
