Coles Group has launched a new nationwide customer promotion offering more than $1.7 million in prizes through its latest Shop, Scan, Win campaign.
The promotion runs from 14 January to 3 February 2026 and is available both in-store and online across Australia.
Customers who spend $20 or more and scan their Flybuys card in-store can receive instant savings at the checkout, with prizes ranging from $5 to $100. Any winnings are loaded directly to the customer’s Flybuys account and can be used immediately or saved for a future shop.
Online shoppers who meet the same $20 spend and have Flybuys linked will be automatically entered into weekly prize draws. Winners will be notified by email and receive a promo code to use on a future online order.
Coles is also offering bonus entries when customers purchase products from more than 30 participating brands, including household, dairy, beverage, and snack brands. Shoppers can earn up to three bonus entries per brand per day, increasing their chances of winning.
This is the fourth time Coles has run the Shop, Scan, Win campaign. Since its launch in 2024, the retailer says the promotion has delivered more than $9 million in value back to customers.
The latest campaign focuses on everyday grocery shopping and is designed to provide short-term savings during a period of ongoing cost-of-living pressure in Australia.
Why This Matters
On the surface, this looks like promotion. In reality, it shows how Australian supermarkets are competing for weekly spend as cost pressure remains high.
Coles is using loyalty data and instant rewards to influence where and how customers shop, not just what they buy. The mix of in-store instant wins and online prize draws is designed to protect footfall, keep Flybuys active, and push larger baskets across channels.
It also highlights how major supermarkets are leaning more heavily on brand-funded promotions rather than straight price cuts, shifting part of the cost onto suppliers while keeping value visible to shoppers.
For the market, this signals tighter competition on loyalty mechanics, not pricing alone — and that matters for suppliers, rival retailers, and shoppers watching how value is delivered at checkout.
