Instacart has expanded its marketplace partnership network by adding Ace Hardware to its same-day delivery platform across the United States.

The new partnership, announced on 14 May 2026, allows customers to order tools, lawn and garden products, grilling supplies, and home maintenance items from thousands of Ace Hardware stores through the Instacart marketplace, with delivery available in as fast as one hour.

The move expands Instacart’s position beyond grocery and deeper into multi-category retail delivery, as platform operators compete to become broader ecommerce infrastructure providers for local retail chains.

Ace Hardware products are now available nationwide through the Instacart app and website. The companies also confirmed that customers will receive no-markup pricing alongside a limited-time promotional offer for qualifying first orders.

Instacart said the partnership is designed to strengthen convenience and same-day fulfillment capabilities for consumers shopping across multiple retail categories.

Ace Hardware said joining the Instacart marketplace supports its strategy of offering flexible shopping options for customers, including local store visits and online delivery fulfillment.

The agreement adds another major retail banner to Instacart’s growing marketplace network, which already includes grocery, beauty, wellness, pet care, and household retailers.

For the wider industry, the partnership reflects how delivery platforms are evolving from grocery-focused apps into larger retail ecosystems handling a broader mix of everyday consumer purchases.

That trend is becoming increasingly important across the wider US retail technology sector as retailers look for faster fulfillment models, stronger digital reach, and additional ecommerce traffic without building standalone delivery infrastructure.

Instacart said its platform now works with more than 2,200 retail banners representing nearly 100,000 stores across North America.

The partnership also highlights growing competition in same-day commerce, where retailers are increasingly using third-party technology platforms to support local delivery, customer acquisition, and digital marketplace visibility.

What happens next will likely depend on how aggressively Instacart continues expanding beyond traditional grocery categories during the remainder of 2026.
