ALDI has permanently reduced the prices of numerous products in its BARISSIMO private-label coffee range across Germany, with the new prices taking effect from 1 July 2026.
The price reductions apply to ground coffee, whole beans, coffee capsules and coffee pods sold across ALDI’s approximately 4,200 stores operated by ALDI Nord and ALDI Süd. According to the retailer, some products are now up to €1 cheaper as part of its ongoing value pricing strategy.
The largest reduction applies to BARISSIMO “Our Best” ground coffee (2 x 250g), which falls by €1 to €5.99. Several whole bean coffee products, including Caffè Crema Dolce, Caffè Crema & Aroma, Espresso Cremoso and Organic Fairtrade varieties, have been reduced by €0.50 per pack.
Other products receiving permanent price cuts include ground coffee, coffee pods and coffee capsules, with reductions ranging from €0.10 to €0.70 depending on the product and store format.
The move reflects ongoing competition across the German supermarket industry, where retailers are using private-label pricing to strengthen their value proposition as coffee remains one of Europe’s most price-sensitive grocery categories.
Coffee prices have experienced significant volatility in recent years because of higher green coffee costs, adverse weather affecting producing countries and wider supply chain pressures. Retailers across Europe have adjusted shelf prices several times during that period, making permanent price reductions a closely watched development for both consumers and suppliers.
By lowering prices across a broad range rather than a limited promotion, ALDI is reinforcing its long-standing position as a price-focused discount retailer while continuing to invest in its private-label portfolio.
The permanent reductions are available from 1 July in ALDI stores across Germany, with some products exclusive to either ALDI Nord or ALDI Süd.
