ALDI has lowered prices on a wide range of everyday food staples across its Germany supermarket network, starting 2 January 2026. The reductions apply nationwide across ALDI Nord and ALDI Süd stores.
The move targets core grocery items that sit at the centre of weekly shopping baskets, including rice, bakery products, wraps, crispbread and spreads. Some products are now up to 50 cents cheaper per unit, with new shelf prices rolled out across roughly 4,200 stores in Germany.
Rice is one of the main categories affected. Multiple BON-RI lines have been reduced, covering jasmine, basmati and parboiled formats, alongside boil-in-the-bag and express rice options. Selected organic rice products are also included, with some variations between ALDI Nord and ALDI Süd.
Bakery and bread alternatives feature prominently as well. GOLDÄHREN wraps, protein rolls and crispbread have all seen price cuts, alongside a range of organic bread rolls. In spreads, peanut butter products under the GRANDESSA and TRADER JOE’S brands have also been reduced, again with buying-group differences.

The price reset reinforces ALDI’s long-standing price-leader strategy in the Germany supermarket market. By cutting prices on visible staples at the start of the year, the retailer is likely to increase pressure on competitors across discount and full-line grocery formats.
The reduced prices are live from 2 January in all participating stores.
