Arneg has unveiled PRISMA, a new range of transcritical CO₂ refrigeration units designed for mini-markets and small retail stores. The outdoor-installable units come in normal and low-temperature versions, combining high performance with a compact footprint.
PRISMA’s key innovation is the integration of the gas cooler within the unit’s structure. This reduces the overall footprint and simplifies installation by removing the need for external components.
The compact design makes it ideal for urban locations or stores with limited technical space. Retailers can now install advanced refrigeration technology without sacrificing valuable floor space.
PRISMA supports both energy efficiency and sustainability goals. CO₂ refrigeration is known for low environmental impact, and Arneg emphasizes that the unit maintains high performance while reducing operational complexity.
Installation flexibility is a highlight. The system is suitable for both new store setups and retrofit projects, offering store operators freedom in layout and configuration.
Why it matters
Smaller retailers face challenges in balancing technology, energy efficiency, and space. PRISMA addresses all three, making CO₂ refrigeration accessible to mini-markets and convenience stores.
The unit reflects broader developments in retail technology in Italy, where compact, sustainable refrigeration solutions are increasingly adopted. Advanced systems like PRISMA help store operators modernize layouts, reduce energy costs, and simplify maintenance without large technical spaces.
Sustainable, high-performance refrigeration is no longer limited to large supermarkets. For operators, this could support environmental commitments while improving store efficiency and flexibility.
