Mondelēz Issues Limited RITZ Recall in Eight U.S. States

Mondelēz Issues Limited RITZ Recall

Mondelēz Global LLC has announced a limited voluntary recall of one SKU of RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches.
The RITZ recall 2025 affects 70 cases shipped to retailers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama.

The recall covers products that may contain Peanut Butter filling but were incorrectly labeled as the Cheese variety.
The outer cartons are correctly labeled, but the individual packs inside may not be.

People with peanut allergies are advised not to consume the product.

A total of two Best When Used By dates — 8 JAN 26 and 15 JAN 26 — are included in the action.
The recall applies only to the 27.6 oz., 20-count cartons with the AE plant code.

Mondelēz says no illnesses or injuries have been reported.
The company discovered that 70 cases were shipped in error and initiated the recall out of caution.

The recall is limited to this SKU.
No other RITZ products or Mondelēz items are affected.

Consumers who purchased the impacted packs should discard them.
Mondelēz has provided a contact line for questions: 1-844-366-1171, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

Why It Matters

For supermarkets, the RITZ recall 2025 highlights how small-scale mislabeling can still trigger action across multiple states.
It also reinforces how allergen controls remain a priority for retailers and suppliers heading into 2026.

This type of issue typically prompts stores to remove affected cartons immediately and review shipment logs, especially in regions with strict food-safety oversight.
Although the recall is limited, peanut-allergen accuracy is closely monitored by buyers and compliance teams.
