New Products And Trends Recognized
The Seafood Excellence Asia Awards highlighted innovation across frozen, value-added and premium seafood.
Lam Kee Fisheries Pte Ltd (Singapore) took the top prize for its Snow Treasures Miso-Marinated Cod Cube.
Vinh Hoan Corporation (Vietnam) and Gumusdoga Su Urunleri (Turkey) placed second and third for new retail and foodservice-focused products.
These developments come as Asian retailers continue to search for consistent supply, new formats and differentiated lines for both fresh and frozen seafood.
Industry Discussions Focus On Sustainability And Market Access
Conference sessions drew strong interest in sustainability frameworks, certification pathways and shifting trade conditions.
Speakers covered equitable supply chains, the strategic use of certifications and changing shrimp market dynamics.
A keynote from economist Manu Bhaskaran outlined a cautiously positive outlook for Southeast Asia, noting opportunities for the region despite ongoing global trade uncertainty. The discussion included currency pressures, logistics constraints and the impact of economic shifts on sourcing patterns.
