Danone has recalled selected baby food batches in the Netherlands after updated guidance from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on cereulide levels.

The recall was made in consultation with the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).

The company said the action is limited to specific batches distributed in the Dutch market. Products still on shelves are not affected and meet the latest EFSA requirements.

Dutch retailers have removed the listed batches from sale. No recall has been announced in other EU countries at this stage.

Danone said the decision follows amended EU guidance and is a precautionary step.

Parents can check batch numbers through the company’s online tool and contact its consumer careline for support.

Infant nutrition remains one of the most tightly regulated FMCG categories in Europe. Updates to EU safety thresholds can quickly lead to market action, especially in sensitive segments like baby food.
