Seafood Expo Global and Seafood Processing Global will return to Barcelona from 21–23 April 2026, with organisers confirming the upcoming edition will be the largest in the event’s history.
The global seafood trade event will take place at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. Organisers said more than 52,907 square metres of exhibition space have already been sold, with additional space still expected to be confirmed before the event opens.
The exhibition brings together seafood producers, processors, equipment suppliers and retail buyers from around the world.
What is Seafood Expo Global?
Seafood Expo Global is an international trade exhibition focused on seafood products, aquaculture, processing technology and supply chain services.
Thousands of industry professionals attend the event each year to meet suppliers, discover new products and discuss developments across the seafood industry.
Buyers attending typically include supermarkets, distributors, seafood importers, wholesalers, restaurants and foodservice companies.
The event is widely regarded as the largest seafood trade show in the world.
Global participation expected
The 2026 edition will host exhibitors from more than 80 countries and include 62 national and regional pavilions representing seafood industries from across the world.
New pavilions joining the exhibition include BG Fish from Bulgaria, Maldives Fisheries & Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation, Instituto Yucateco de Emprendedores from Mexico, Madayn from Oman, Infopesca from Uruguay and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Venezuela.
Large seafood producing countries such as Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador, Norway, the United States and Vietnam are also expected to have a strong presence.
Aquaculture Innovation Zone introduced
A new feature for the 2026 event will be the Aquaculture Innovation Zone, designed to highlight companies developing solutions for aquaculture production.
The area will feature suppliers, startups and research organisations working on technology for monitoring aquaculture operations, improving animal health and developing sustainable feed systems.
The zone will also host networking sessions and discussions focused on innovation within the aquaculture sector.
Seafood processing and packaging technologies
Seafood Processing Global will run alongside the main exhibition and focus on technologies used in seafood manufacturing and distribution.
The processing section will cover equipment, refrigeration systems, freezing technology, packaging machinery, hygiene control, quality assurance, logistics and transportation.
Companies participating in the processing and technology exhibition include Baader, CMA CGM, JBT Marel, AKVA Group, Ace Aquatec, Saeplast, Multivac and ULMA.
These technologies support seafood production and supply chains that connect producers with international retail markets and foodservice buyers.
Conference programme to explore global seafood trends
The 2026 conference programme will feature more than 20 industry sessions examining key developments shaping the seafood sector.
Economist and geopolitical strategist Dr. Nomi Prins will deliver the keynote presentation titled “High Stakes, Shifting Tides: The Global Outlook on Seafood, Trade, Economic Pressure Points and Opportunities.”
Conference sessions will explore topics including automation in seafood processing, machine learning applications, supply chain transparency, regulatory compliance and financial trends affecting seafood businesses.
Other discussions will examine sustainability strategies and the role of technology in supporting responsible seafood production.
The event continues to serve as a major meeting point for global seafood companies, buyers and technology providers as supply chains evolve and demand for seafood products grows across international retail markets, while also reflecting the wider momentum of Spain food trade events that connect producers, suppliers and retailers across the European food industry.
