Aldi has launched a limited edition bejewelled Bramwells Mint Sauce mini jar in the United Kingdom as the retailer reports strong year-round sales of the condiment. The product is available in stores now as part of a short promotional campaign running until early April.
The retailer said it sold more than 3.4 million jars of Bramwells Mint Sauce over the last year, showing that demand for the product continues beyond the traditional Easter period.
The limited edition version is a smaller decorative jar released as part of a national promotion and competition. The standard Bramwells Mint Sauce product remains part of Aldi’s regular grocery range in the UK.
The company also said consumer research shows mint sauce is increasingly used with a wider range of meals, not just seasonal dishes, which helps explain why the product continues to sell throughout the year.
From a retail perspective, the campaign shows how a UK supermarket is using limited edition packaging and seasonal promotions to maintain interest in long-established private label grocery products.
Why It Matters
For the UK supermarket sector, private label condiments are high-volume, repeat-purchase items that provide stable margins. When a retailer promotes a private label staple using limited edition packaging, the goal is usually to increase basket spend and keep customers engaged with own-brand ranges.
This type of campaign also shows how supermarkets can generate new interest in existing products without changing the product itself. Instead, retailers use packaging, design, and short promotional runs to create a sense of novelty around everyday grocery items.
In the UK supermarket market, own-brand products are a major part of retail strategy, and categories such as sauces, cooking ingredients, and condiments play an important role because they are purchased frequently and help build long-term customer loyalty.
Although mint sauce is a small category, it sits within the wider table sauces and cooking ingredients segment, which is an important category for private label growth across UK supermarkets.
The promotion runs from 26 March to 2 April 2026, while the standard product will continue to be sold in Aldi stores across the country.
