Anuga Select India 2026 will bring more than 1,100 exhibitors from 31 countries to the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 29 September to 1 October, as food manufacturers, retailers and buyers prepare for one of India’s largest international sourcing events.

Around 50,000 trade visitors are expected across Anuga Select India and the co-located Anuga FoodTec India, bringing finished food, beverages, processing technology, packaging and supply-chain suppliers into the same venue.

For supermarket buying teams, the scale of international participation is one of the main attractions.

Suppliers will cover fresh produce, dairy, bakery, beverages, frozen foods, fine foods, organic products, confectionery and snacks, with manufacturers attending from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.

The European Union will take part as the event’s Partner Region, with its pavilion showcasing more than 250 products from across the bloc’s 27 member states.

The programme is designed to connect European producers directly with Indian importers, retailers, distributors and hospitality buyers.

International pavilions will also represent countries including China, Brazil, Germany, Thailand, South Korea, Belgium, the Philippines, Georgia, Turkey, Taiwan, Spain, Italy and Indonesia.

Indian food and agricultural suppliers will have a substantial presence of their own.

APEDA, the Spices Board of India, National Turmeric Board, Coffee Board of India and Coconut Development Board are among the organisations represented at the event.

That mix gives international buyers access to Indian suppliers across categories where the country already has substantial production and export capability.

It also gives overseas manufacturers a route into an Indian grocery market where modern retail, convenience and quick-commerce channels continue to expand.

A dedicated start-up area will put emerging food brands in front of retailers and distributors looking for products that have not yet reached large-scale supermarket distribution.

For established suppliers, the event offers a different opportunity: finding importers and distribution partners capable of supporting wider market entry.

Anuga Select India is being held alongside the 20th edition of Anuga FoodTec India.

The technology show will cover processing machinery, automation, digitalisation, food packaging, food safety, intralogistics, cold-chain systems and storage.

The co-location means buyers can move between finished products and the infrastructure behind their production and distribution.

Packaging and cold chain are likely to be particularly relevant for categories such as dairy, frozen foods and fresh produce, where shelf life and transport conditions directly affect supermarket availability and waste.

The event will also include hosted buyer meetings, demonstrations, conferences and networking programmes intended to move discussions beyond exhibition stands and into commercial negotiations.

GTN has previously included Anuga among the major global food trade events for supermarket buyers.

The Mumbai show also arrives as private label continues to develop across Asian grocery markets, increasing demand for manufacturers that can support retailer-controlled ranges as well as branded products.

That creates another sourcing opportunity at Anuga Select India, particularly for manufacturers able to combine competitive production with packaging, certification and export capability.

The 19th edition of Anuga Select India opens on 29 September alongside the 20th edition of Anuga FoodTec India, with both shows running until 1 October at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.

For buyers arriving in Mumbai, the challenge will not be finding suppliers. It will be narrowing more than 1,100 exhibitors into the manufacturers and products capable of moving from a trade-show conversation to a supermarket listing.
