Saudi Dates has been named the official Show Partner for the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show 2026, as Saudi Arabia expands its push into the growing US market for natural and clean-label food ingredients.
The partnership was announced by the Specialty Food Association ahead of the event, which will take place from June 28–30 at the Javits Center.
Saudi Dates, the national trademark managed by the National Center for Palms and Dates (NCPD), will showcase a broad portfolio of whole dates and value-added ingredients including date syrup, date paste, chopped dates, and fillings aimed at bakery, confectionery, and functional food applications.
The announcement reflects wider growth in consumer demand for natural sweeteners and clean-label products across US retail, foodservice, and food manufacturing.
According to the Specialty Food Association, interest in date-based ingredients has accelerated as shoppers increasingly look for alternatives to refined sugar and highly processed sweeteners.
Saudi Arabia’s participation will include a dedicated pavilion, tasting sessions, and culinary demonstrations designed for buyers, distributors, importers, and retail professionals attending the show.
The Summer Fancy Food Show remains one of North America’s largest specialty food trade events, bringing together manufacturers, retailers, supermarket buyers, foodservice operators, and global sourcing teams.
For supermarket and FMCG businesses, the growing use of date ingredients is becoming increasingly relevant across snack products, bakery ranges, private label innovation, and functional foods.
The partnership also supports Saudi Arabia’s wider Vision 2030 strategy to expand non-oil exports and strengthen international food trade relationships.
Why it matters
The announcement highlights how natural sweeteners are moving further into mainstream retail and FMCG supply chains.
As consumer demand shifts toward cleaner labels and reduced refined sugar content, supermarkets and food manufacturers are expanding interest in ingredients such as dates, syrups, and fruit-based sweetening systems.
The trend is also creating new opportunities across private label snacks, bakery products, cereal bars, and wellness-focused food categories.
For US FMCG buyers and global sourcing teams, the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show is expected to become an important platform for ingredient innovation and international supplier partnerships.
What happens next
Saudi Dates is expected to use the 2026 event to strengthen relationships with US importers, distributors, retailers, and food manufacturers as competition in natural sweetener categories continues to grow.
The direction is becoming clearer across the global food sector: clean-label ingredients, healthier sugar alternatives, and functional food positioning are becoming increasingly important for both US FMCG and international supermarket supply chains.
