Taylor Farms launches a new protein-forward product line designed to combine fresh vegetables with higher-protein ingredients across salads, bowls and snack packs.

The Salinas, California-based fresh foods producer introduced 11 products under the new platform on 10 March 2026, targeting growing consumer demand for foods that combine fresh produce with higher protein content.

The products are now available nationwide in the United States, with additional items expected to launch in the coming months.

Taylor Farms expands protein-focused fresh foods

Taylor Farms developed the platform to combine vegetables with protein-rich ingredients such as whey protein dressings, cheeses, nuts and chicken.

The company said the range is designed for consumers looking for convenient meal and snack options that deliver both fresh produce and higher protein levels.

The new platform includes salad kits, prepared salad bowls and snack packs, expanding Taylor Farms’ ready-to-eat category.

Across the products, protein is added through several components including dressings, toppings, grains and dairy ingredients.

What are Taylor Farms protein-forward products?

Taylor Farms protein-forward products are fresh ready-to-eat meals and snacks that combine vegetables with higher-protein ingredients such as chicken, whey protein, cheese and nuts.

The range includes:

  • Protein Chopped Salad Kits

  • Protein Salad Bowls

  • Protein Power Snacks

Protein levels vary across the products, ranging from around 10 grams to more than 23 grams per serving depending on the item.

Examples from the new range

The Protein Caesar Chopped Salad Kit includes romaine lettuce, whey-protein croutons, cheese and Caesar dressing, providing about 21 grams of protein.

The Protein Southwest Salad Bowl combines romaine lettuce, chicken, beans, corn, cheese and chickpea chips with a whey-protein dressing and contains about 23 grams of protein.

Snack products include vegetable packs with dips and toppings, such as carrots, broccoli, cheese, almonds or trail mix paired with whey-protein dressings.

These items provide between 13 and 17 grams of protein depending on the product.

Protein demand continues shaping fresh food innovation

Demand for higher-protein foods has expanded beyond traditional categories such as dairy and sports nutrition into ready-to-eat meals and fresh produce.

Retailers have increasingly expanded protein-focused products across chilled supermarket categories including salads, prepared meals and snack packs.

By integrating protein ingredients directly into dressings, toppings and snack combinations, companies are adapting fresh produce offerings to evolving consumer preferences.

Taylor Farms produces ready-to-eat salads and fresh foods for supermarkets across North America, supplying retailers with packaged produce products distributed through chilled grocery channels.

What happens next

Taylor Farms said the protein-forward platform will expand with additional products in the coming months as the company continues developing new fresh convenience foods.

The launch reflects a broader shift within the fresh produce industry, where suppliers are combining vegetables with functional ingredients to create higher-protein ready-to-eat products for supermarket shoppers.
