ITAB reported a 3% rise in third-quarter sales to SEK 3.397 billion, while charges linked to a cancelled IT system and restructuring sharply reduced reported profit.
The Swedish store equipment and retail technology group released its results on 3 November. Operating profit fell to SEK 6 million from SEK 220 million. The quarter included SEK 242 million of non-recurring costs, including SEK 222 million linked to the discontinued enterprise resource planning project.
The distinction between reported and adjusted earnings matters. EBITA excluding non-recurring items rose to SEK 266 million from SEK 258 million. That measure excludes amortisation of acquisition-related intangible assets as well as the specified one-off costs.
The ERP charge relates to ITAB’s internal systems. It should not be read as the cancellation of a supermarket customer’s checkout or store installation.
ITAB is among the retail technology suppliers based in Sweden serving grocery chains. For buyers, the useful question is how its integration work affects delivery, installation and support across store projects.
The group’s results also list its previously announced REMA 1000 framework agreement, worth an estimated NOK 320 million over 42 months. It covers interiors, loss prevention, trolleys and baskets across 650 Norwegian stores.
That agreement remains relevant to checkout and customer-flow investment, but its estimated total value is not revenue earned in the third quarter.
Chief executive Björn Borgman said work to realise synergies was progressing as planned. Coordination of production facilities in the UK and Türkiye began during the quarter.
For procurement teams, combining suppliers can simplify a rollout. It also makes clear responsibility important: buyers need to know who owns installation deadlines, replacement parts and service calls when several group businesses contribute to a project.
The next commercial test is whether ITAB can turn its integration work into more consistent delivery and stronger earnings while maintaining support for customers’ store programmes.
