Bonduelle’s first-quarter sales reached €524.8 million, up 0.5% like for like and 1.0% as reported. Canned sales rose 9.8% like for like, offsetting a 10.7% fall in prepared fresh sales.

The French vegetable supplier reported the figures on 5 November for the three months to 30 September, the first quarter of its 2026–27 financial year. Frozen sales rose 1.1% like for like to €69 million.

Canned products brought in €270 million, just over half of group revenue. On a reported basis, the segment added €25.4 million compared with a year earlier. That increase more than offset a €21.1 million fall in prepared fresh sales.

The group-wide decline in prepared fresh masks a different picture in Europe. Bonduelle said prepared and frozen meal products performed well there, alongside a return to more normal trading conditions in private label. European sales rose 6.4% like for like to €346.1 million.

Outside Europe, sales fell 9.4% like for like to €178.7 million. Bonduelle said a US Cyclospora outbreak damaged confidence across the salad category and weighed on its US business. It said its own products were not involved.

When comparing European produce suppliers, buyers should assess ambient, frozen and chilled ranges separately. The sales figures do not establish how much of the canned gain came from volume rather than pricing or product mix. Buyers planning promotions or changing shelf space still need their own unit sales and waste data.

Bonduelle kept its focus on maintaining profitability, generating cash and reducing debt. Its next scheduled sales and earnings update is on 25 February 2027. That report should show whether the European gains can hold and whether demand for US prepared salads is recovering.
