ALDI Nord has introduced a permanent organic ready-to-drink matcha latte under its private label brand ASIA GREEN GARDEN, expanding its chilled beverage range across approximately 2,200 stores in Germany.

The product went on sale February 23, 2026, and is stocked in the refrigerated section.

Each 250ml bottle contains 2.5 grams of matcha sourced from Japan. The drink is organic, vegan and lactose-free. It is made with oat milk and sweetened with organic date syrup, without refined sugar or artificial sweeteners. According to the company, the beverage is neither pasteurised nor ultra-high-temperature processed.

Retail price is €1.99 per bottle, plus a €0.25 deposit under Germany’s Pfand system.

The product is available in three variants: Classic, Vanilla with bourbon vanilla, and Strawberry with natural strawberry purée.

What Is ALDI Nord’s New Matcha Latte?

ALDI Nord’s new listing is a chilled, organic, ready-to-drink matcha latte sold under its own brand. It contains 2.5 grams of Japanese matcha per 250ml bottle and is positioned as a lower-cost alternative to café matcha drinks.

The drink is permanently stocked rather than offered as a limited-time promotion.

Why Is The €1.99 Price Significant?

In many German cities, café matcha lattes are priced above €5. By introducing a €1.99 retail alternative, ALDI Nord narrows the price gap between foodservice and supermarket channels.

The move strengthens private label competition in premium chilled beverages and expands discount retail presence in trend-led drink categories.

Why This Matters For German Supermarkets

The launch reflects a broader shift in European grocery retail, where café-style beverages increasingly move into chilled supermarket fixtures.

Private label plays a central role in that shift. By developing the product internally rather than listing an established brand, ALDI Nord retains pricing control while responding to consumer demand for organic and plant-based drinks.

The integration into Germany’s deposit-return system also aligns the product with national packaging compliance requirements.

The introduction of a permanent organic matcha latte at discount price level signals that trend-driven functional beverages are becoming mainstream in German supermarkets.

The product is available nationwide.
